Suddenly we are seeing Pelicans again and we are taking it as an indication of southern warmer climes......we hope!
Today it was wonderfully sunny as we made our way down the Chesapeake to our anchorage in Chisham Creek just south of the York River.
On the way into the creek we bounced of a patch of mud, I was answering a call of nature so Claire quickly took the engine out of gear as Moonstone rode over over the mud into deeper water the other side! As with many of the smaller creeks in the US the channel marks aren't always quite in the right place but there was no harm done and as soon as we dropped anchor we calmed our nerves with a glass of wine......or two.
