Just before the start

Moonshine

Well, it's 10.45 on Sunday. We're still sitting on the marina. The start is at 1pm, and some boats have left already for the start line. We are almost ready, but broke off to write this log.
There are bands playing - (sounds like several different tunes at different tempos) The colours are amazing with all boats still flying their national flags, and flying bunting. There is an air of excitement, and a huge amount of frantic activity. This is surprising when you consider the time the marina bar closed last night.
The weather has changed completely! We have a beautiful sunny day with very little wind. Unfortunately there is a very big sea out there that has been bought up by the weather you are having further north. Mind you looking at the weather map, we would sooner be here in rough seas and warm, than there in the cold and gales.
Perhaps by reading the logs, you can experience some of the feeling of summer again.
The log will continue when we are under way, and settled into sailing. Right now we have to get involved in the excitement.
If Radio Cornwall is reading the log, please give a mention on air, and our love to Sandra, Lisa, and Janet - the ladies we've left behind
Regards to all.
Rod, Dave, and Alun.
