We left Graciosa with a lot of regrets- it would have been easy to stay and chill out for longer!
We sailed down the west side of Lanzarotte slowly with a following wind and to our surprise caught 2 lovely tuna which provided a very tasty dinner.

We were annoyed to be overtaken by a German yacht and we tried all sorts to catch up and failed.   As we approached the SW coast of Lanzarotte we were visited by half a dozen dolphin of some type- we haven't found our identification chart yet!- they appeared less sleek and playful than most and showed very white under the water.  We entered the Marina Rubicon on the south coast of Lanzarotte and while checking in the German admitted he had his engine on so we were 'not so put out'.

Marina Rubicon is very new but despite that the laundry was broken down and wi-fi was variable. However there is a swimming pool and plenty of shops and restaurants. Wednesday we walked to Playa Blanca which is a new resort and really is the sort of place we do not like; it's crowded beach sends shivers down my spine! The marina environment is quieter with several hotels and bungalows as part of the development but all done in good taste.    www.marinarubicon.com
