Dingle to Frenchport  140 miles logged.

 

We left Dingle at 1.30pm  and pushed the last of the tide at Blasket Sound rather than have the wind against tide then sailed for several hours as the wind backed towards the south. The wind eased leaving a sloppy sea and once again the engine went on and we motor sailed through the night past the Arran Islands and Inishbofin, both planned stopping places but with favourable weather we pushed on and anchored in Frenchport at midday. An excellent anchorage while the wind was in the south although there was a bit of a swell as the wind went west again 3 days later.
