Title: Ken, alex and laurent

Marina Taina, Tahiti west coast inside the reef

Ooh it's very lovely here. Lots of exotic little fish, purple and yellow
twinkle around the boat. it's like a South of France marina - except that
the water is so warm, blue and clear that everyone snorkels even IN the
marina. However, the internet is slow. I mean REALLY slow. I am gonna
have to do something about it, perhaps use it at nights, not sure. I
subscribed to a couple of antenna things but after two hours i hadn't
actually loaded an email page, or seen an email. It's *just* quick enough
take a credit card and (an hour later) give you a username and password.

News from Dancing Walrus, our neighbours back in Panama, exact same boat
model just different hull number. They're taking it more gently and are in
the Galapagos. Seems they too having a troublesome cash-costing time from
the authorities - a permit to stay at more than one island being $1600,
having to buy new park pass $100 a pop when they flew to US and back, random
anchoring charges and on and on.

Dancing Walrus is Ken's boat - and Ken is Captain Project aka "Boatman"-
lots of boatfixing in his own personal floating Gotham City catamaran.
Boatman's part time assistant - called Robin, of course - built his own
house - starting with cutting down trees and turning the logs into planks.
Robin is back in the USA now and Dancing Walrus continues the Pacific
adventure.

Ken is actually from Canada but has possibly Scottish or Yorkshire
ancestry that he doesn't know about- at dinner in Panama, Anna and Ken
were choosing wine, and Ken volunteered that his own personal favourite wine
is called "Frontera". He didn't actually like the stuff that much BUT as he
said- "the price is right!". Fantastic! - slightly-rubbish wine BUT the
enjoyment completely assured due to its special qualities that arouse your
senses even before you reach the checkout - utter cheapness, distinct tones
of the bargain basement, and hints of almost completely free stuff. Would
you like to try the wine, sir? Nope! - it's a buck a bottle - who the hell
cares what tastes like?

News also from Alex and Laurent who work in a bank ... and follow the Mojomo
blog. Hey, it's called "customer relations", okay? Definitely NOT "messing
about on the internet whilst at work". They kindly bought some shares for
me a while back ... but tell me that Telefonica shares are well, a bit
rubbish - so perhaps sell them? Yes, definitely sell them guys, okay? Buy
some *other* shares, a votre choix. Can't be worse than my daft ideas. If
you can't think of any ideas, well, just keep it in the high-interest
shoebox/account.

Very good news - the aircon is working so we can run it 24/7 for 30 bucks a week and kill all the flies. Oh, and anna sez the internet is okay (or better than this afternoon) as long as you use it when everyone else is asleep or at dinner.
