This is to let people know that it's okay to email me anything they've
written - text emails, no problem. In fact, it's fab to get emails.
It's best if (please) you delete the message that arrives at your end if
it's a reply from me - otherwise i pay to send the message and again to get
it back. Obviously it doesn't matter for you costwise at work in the office
cos well, to hell with them eh? Oops no, i mean, it doesn't cost any more to
send the whole thread, fixed costs innit? Fairly fixed anyway.
Anyways, me receiving/sending an email on satellite phone carries an
overhead anyway - it costs (say) 50p to get a one-sentence email anyway,
and only (say) 60p to get a whole page. So deleting the original msg ain't
a mega deal.
But the overhead means that what you definitely *don't* need to do is to
send me a satellite email saying "shall i send you an email to this
address?" or "is it ok to send you an email?" cos then i have to send
another email like this back saying "yes, it's fine send it" and it wd've
been much cheaper and easier all round if you just sent the email in the
first place. Otherwise i'll end up with people sending me emails saying
"are you busy?" and i have to send one back saying no, not too busy, and
then you send one saying "so is it ok to use this email address then?" and i
say yes it's fine, and then you say "ooh but i don't want to interrupt you
if you're busy, or it to cost you a lot of money, you sure it's okay?" to
which i reply no it'll be fine just send the fecking email, and then you say
"well, there's no need to be like that about it" and then i have to say look
i'm sorry look, please just send the email will you? And eventually you
send the email, which by the time i receive it has cost about a ten
dollars...
As always, don't "reply" to messages with main target of the diary -
otherwise they might actually go to the diary. However, i can tell you that
if the emails including rude words, it won't go on the diary. No, i don't
have a list of the words.
