You've now put me in a very difficult position...

As an experienced yachtsman of repute and the proud holder (with the rest of
my crew of course) of the revered 2005 ARC Best Basil Plant (note the caps)
competition, negotiating a syndicated (yet obviously exclusive at the same
time) right with Worldcruisingclub, puts me in a tricky place.

If I negotiate hard, then I surely run the risk of having the precious honour (or
honor for US readers) unceremoniously stripped from me or, wishing to retain
the honour (or again honor for US readers), I somehow go soft and grant the
rights (TV excluded of course) at a rate of less than £10 per click.

I suggest a japanese walls approach, where I sub-contract the business to
another outfit similar to mine (say IMG) and merely take half the 40%
commission that will doubtless accrue. This would ensure a more aggressive
sales approach and, should my involvement leak out to WCC, it would mean
that I would be able to cover the blank patch above my fireplace with at
least an old £10 note, or two.

But it won't be the same, naturally.Simply gazing at that gold painted
plastic trophy, glass of reminiscent rum punch in hand, watching I'm a
Celebrity on TV, brings a pool of tears as I remember fondly that strong
proud herb we nurtured and how it (and Herb) made the crossing so memorable
and, as the award testifies, so ultimately successful.
