Blimminek. I booked as liftout at the Calero yard about two months ago,
perhaps more. Flights hotels all booked, and motoring to make the Wednesday
8:30am appointment. But just today we get an email by satphone from the
yard that Wednesday is a Bank Holiday - how about Thursday? Jeez! This
isn't the first time either - another time, same yard, said "oops we just
realised that the tide will be out on the day you booked so can't lift you
out". Both these things (and lots more) are easy to check way in advance.
We're spending money to fit their plans - only to find out that there aren't
any plans at that end? I reckon they should give me a free nite waiting for
liftout! Hopefully the famous Mojomo Shore Support will givem hell, and is
hereby released in "attack" mode although with phasars set to "stun" . Go
gettem! Grr.
Lots of lovely texts arrive on the satfone, and the sun is shining (nearly).
Last day out here for a while, aw. We saw a tiny fishing boat, under 25feet
and 50nm from land, but waved him away cos we've had enough fish, thanks.
Yeah, alright, thanks also for texts asking what time it is on the boat,
ahem. I think we've established that it's BST here, thankee very much. So
11:30 here and lanzarote and UK, and erm 12:30 in most of Europe.
Happy birthday to Bryn, 11 today! Ooh, I remember when I was 11... erm
well, actually, I've just realised i don't remember about being 11 at all.
