19:09N 42:28W at 0950 utc 9+knots average at the moment, surfing in double
figures, cranked
parasail, wind to 27knots maybe, lots of squals overnight, the Gods didn't
much like my squall spoof so sent us a whole load of real ones. But wind and
seas still with us, parasail still up and it's at these higher wind speeds
that the parasail really works fab, lifting the bow, leaking excess wind,
giving
full viz all around, recovering from big swings over waves, good seed with
just one sail.
We think we've caught u a group of boats ahead, suddenly hamlf a dozen all
around but they've
fallen behind.
Pat knows how to (try) and use the autopilot in these
winds - you press the buttons plus10 a bit and then minus10 a bit, for ages.
Press the buttons, Pat. I'm pressin the bleedin buttons. How do you say a
Hail Mary, Pat? Don't worry I've already said load....
At highish wind speed the autopilot is a bit hopeless, so I handsteered
overnight.
Swmbo rasng me up at 11pm to say ooh, on google you're going
backwards, who's on watch? But we are defintiely not going backwards. Some
of our position reports mite have been wrong syntax, tho, or late from an
old place, or summink.
Oh and I nearly forgot ther Rob's Incredble Cheesecake, which he produced on
deck
whilst we were mucking about with the sail, vital bit of equipment
