From Sean at 1.47 am when it looked as if the leading team was setting sail
" couldnt message earlier. no sat phone coverage owing to storm. lightning cracking directly overhead. it was biblical but we made it through. just airing cabin off now in the wind"
Then at 8.46 am after it looked like more boats setting sail
"the storm is awful. what direction did they move off in?"
Then again at 9.38 am after we think the leaders are just drifting in the storm
"ah bugger. that means we have more of this. not good. thanks for the update."
Oh dear. Hang in there boys. It will eventually pass!
