Departed Flushing at 0700 bound for Cowes, Isle of Wight. This is for the Old Pangbournian Yacht Club (OPYC) get together on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Nautical College, Pangbourne now known as Pangbourne College.

For the occasion we had, in addition to myself and Helen, two other old Pangbournians (OP’s) on board——Laurence Johnstone (1963-1968) and Mike Brougham (1959-1964).

The forecast was wet, which turned out to be understatement as torrential rain fell vertically from the dark sky above. However the wind was ideal with both a beam westerly wind and a north west quartering wind.
