We have had a great weekend, seeing friends and touring the area, but now the rain is pouring down again and we wait for a change in the wind to make our way home. The countryside is similar to Britain, but there is more rain here - or so it seems! This tower was built to enable the villagers of Cloyne to see the Viking hordes and hide the valuables before they landed. Cloyne Cathedral must have had a much bigger congregation in times past the gardens and arboretum at Fota House near Cobh, Cork We had a picnic on Sunday at a beach near Ballycotton. As soon as the weather changes we hope to sail home! This has been the coldest, wettest trip we have ever had by a very long way! |
