After rounding Cape St Vincent in ideal conditions we proceeded northwards. The wind came and went (the Jenny was in and out 10x!) and we motored on into calm seas. The prevailing winds are Northerly along this coast and therefore the seas would be against us too if it was blowing hard. This morning at 7am we had two or three large visitors alongside the boat, whales came to see what we were up to, they swam alongside us and rolled over, Helen had the EPIRB ready in case they rolled us over, but they were a really amazing sight, so very big, their blowholes were the size of saucers! We think they were Minke whales about 80 ft long. Mark took some photos for the next blog. At midday we arrived in Cascais marina and we await the right conditions to continue Northwards.
