We left San Miguel, after 5 days enjoying the peace and quiet, and warm sea for swimming most days. On the way to tenerife we saw our first whales!! So excited to see the first one, probably a pilot whale, then a few minutes later we saw a much larger one, which did 5 spouts before diving with it's tail in the air. (see photo) After that we saw several more whales at a distance.
Whilst in Santa Cruz, we took a coach trip to see Mount Teide, but it was so windy that the cable car was not running. However, the rocks and mountains were spectacular, so the summit will have to wait for a future visit.
