May 3rd 2018

Jonno and I moved onto Mares Tail, so that we could get the house ready for our tenant Christine. The next few days have been busy with packing, cleaning and waiting for new boat equipment.

Tuesday 8th May
Early shop at Tesco, and all the equipment arrived including the new Life Raft, AIS trackers, flares, ropes and halyards. It was lovely to be invited to a farewell coffee (and prosecco) at Val's, then a visit to Mum before walking home to the boat. Jon meanwhile was off to buy the EPIRB, but rushed back with the news that his mum had fallen over, so dashed off to the shore to collect her, then J took her to Q.A while I went back to wait for my good friends from my yoga group. Great to see them, and enjoy drinks in the sunshine.

Wednesday 9th May
04.45 alarm for a 05.00 start, to catch the outgoing tide. NW 4-5 forecast, ended up sailing, occasionally with the engine when the wind dropped on a close reach to Cherbourg, where we were tied up on Q pontoon by 18.00.

Thursday 10th May
Sun and wind today, and a day in port. Scrubbed the boat, and tidied up before a wander down to the Hypermarche.
