Hot and sunny, with a forecast of F2-4, so sailing to an anchorage off Ile de Houat. Arrived 15.15 to an idyllic spot, with a couple of other boats. We were just admiring the view when about 20 French sailing school boats arrived, crowded with children, and proceeded to anchor and raft up all around us!

Once they were settled, we canoed ashore, to a beautiful sandy cove, then walked up a path through gorse, foxgloves, blue bells and wild dog roses to the cross on top of the hill. Looked over to a very quiet anchorage the other side of the peninsula!

After dinner, all the other boats left and we enjoyed a peaceful evening - but later the wind turned so that by midnight we were bouncing up and down on a Lee shore, and spent a very uncomfortable night. Oh well, better luck next anchorage.
