Early morning run (only a few miles) to pick up the "car". No mid-size rentals available - only huge pick-up trucks! So, the Ford F150 it was to be..!!

Magic Friday moved to a mooring bouy in the bay, all shut down except for the masthead light (intentionally left on, knowing its battery usage is only 0.17 mAh), the pick-up packed (using all the back seat space as there was no protected trunk (the boot)), and we were off on the Nova Scotia road trip!

First stop, for lunch overlooking an inlet on the east coast, following the "Lighthouse Route" (competition on how many we will see - not obvious in the sea-mist). A small detour to Gray's Harbour - an active fishing harbour with its ubiquitous lobster pots and another detour to "test" the Ford off-road to a beach - no doubt the pick-up is good for the terrain! Huge on standard roads, great to drive (packed with 6litres of power) but a nightmare to park.

Overnight in Mackensie's motel just outside Shelbourne. A chance to swim, chat to our neighbor motor-bikers and a sunset BBQ by the poolside.
