There are some nights on anchor when the winds are calm and a good night's rest is had by all, then there are some nights that are not . this was one of the latter! After a pleasant evening meal and another "Long Way Round" (Ewan McGregor) episode - a last minute check on the night marks didn't make sense. Oh dear, we had dragged back into the ICW in the strengthening winds. All hands on deck, raise the anchor, prepare the second "never-let-us-down" Fortress spare anchor, motor in the cold dark night back to a location close to where we started and deploy both anchors. No doubt the Fortress was holding firm in winds of 18-20 knots and gusting 25 knots. Two hour watches set to check marks and some sleep gained in-between . just one of those night!!

Thankfully, only 10-12 miles to do through the winding end and changing landscapes of the North River and into the canal cut to our marina stop at Coinjock - an Indian word for blueberry. Although blueberry bushes had not been seen in the area in recorded times it was once recorded that young girls would "dance around the Coinjock". A favourite stop on our previous southward trip - in this case the marina hadn't changed at all, nestled in amongst a small community. The bar and restaurant were still there.and a dockside bbq of lobster tails to round of a relaxing day.
