A stormy night as the wind whistled through the rigging, the morning lines creaked under the strain tied to the dock and the waves lapped against the side of the hull.but we slept on! Although the marina muddy particles that had stuck to the hull side needed a good scrub to wash off in the morning!

Strong northerly then easterly winds forecast for the next few days - so an evaluation as to whether we can transact the Inter Coastal Waterway (ICW) for ~60 statutory miles (3 days motoring) into Southport (our next port of call). Some planning, some discussions with the dock hands, a check with marinas en-route for depth issues and even a review on "Active Captain" all helped to get to a decision - we'll risk the depths and shoaling noted as being passable for our 6'6" draft (not to mention the 65' fixed bridges to clear)!!

Afternoon spent on skype talking with Annelise . always fun to chat. To and a walk into historic Georgetown under live oak trees covered in ferns and Spanish moss, past old colonial style houses and onto the riverfront boardwalk to a lively bar for evening drinks and nibbles (the terquenas were particularly good).
