Another dawn start to slip lines and use the benefit slack tide to exit the marina for a long day sail north east toward Georgetown and Winyah Bay on our anniversary day! Cards to open along the way.

A few ships to avoid as we left the Charleston breakwaters - not least of which was mega container ship bearing down upon us - thankfully a sufficiently wide channel for us both to pass! Sails set, course dialed in we were on our way again. Light winds and a calm sea, the miles slipped by as we rounded Cape Romain. In the escaping afternoon sight of the navigation bouys for Winyah Bay came into view. Genoa still flying to help against the out-going tide we sailed past the lighthouse, deciding the southerly would leave for a comfortable night on our anchor in our "usual" location, instead we took shelter north of Cat Island. Setting the anchor just as the sun set.

Happy Anniversary!
