Morning dawn greeted with a fresh clear blue sky. Lazy morning inside waiting for the sun to warm the day.

A short drive to Jekyll Island for our favourite bike and run location. This time parked opposite the island's former club (now a grand hotel) and set off north towards Clam Creek and Driftwood Beach along the winding paths through tall pines, live oaks draped with Spanish moss, only the wading egrets, herons and other fishing birds along the creek for company. A brief respite on Driftwood Beach (eating "chili" mint cake(!) - thanks Annelise) and then onward along a pathway over the marshes and back to the pathway to the car as the evening sun struck dappled sunlight through the hanging moss - 11 miles on the watch!

Next, a stop over at the newly refurbished ex-Latitude dockside bar/restaurant (now owned by the hotel) to quench our thirst (and warm up!), before heading to the Marshide Grill (another bar/restaurant) for dinner and conversations with locals.
