A wet and rainy night continued into the morning - no choice but . a lazy morning start followed by inside paperwork and other jobs.

As the afternoon cleared up a venture outside and a chance to re-acquaint and chat with other friends on the dock..and what a discovery! Three yachts on our dock, of which two moored directly opposite to our slip were hit by lightening back in later November (21st at 8:00pm to be exact). One hit shook their boat (they were on board), another strike was witnessed by crew on board a catamaran - describing the mast "light-up like a Xmas tree". Very frightening and VERY damaging to electrical systems - inverters, navigation lights, VHF areal completely fried, engine electronics destroyed. Another yacht further down on a different dock was also struck on the same night. Magic Friday somehow managed to "stay low, duck and / or cringe" at the strikes all around and (we think) not get hit. Although the starboard navigation light is out and we wonder if the AIS trouble is related.. But thankfully no serious damage as the others had suffered..phew, a near miss in any log book!!

An afternoon walk along the marina and the town square to calm our nerves before settling back down for an evening reading and relaxing!
