A busy shipping night as cargo vessels of all sizes and destinations leaving Jacksonville (St John's Inlet) kept us busy on the AIS tracking. No need to change course - we slipped by as ships "passing in the night". Favourable wind shifts helped us on our way as did the building waves on our stern - so much so that Mini Magic decided to help us on our way as well - bumping into the stern as the dinghy surfed down a wave and Magic Friday slowed up on the upward preceding wave - the only solution was to lengthen the painters and try to match wave pitches between us and the dinghy. Very scientific, not entirely successful but at elast we were not getting "bumped from behind" every few minutes!!

The night surrendered to a grey dawn as St Simmons lighthouse came into view - our cue to head west and inshore. Enough wind to set the jib and counter the outgoing tide as we slipped past Jekyll Island driftwood beach, amused ourselves with an ant visitor tot he decks, watched a police launch go alongside a small fishing boat in the middle of the shipping channel under the bridge (whilst we slipped cautiously by trying to look the other way) and finally up to Brunswick - passing a sleek 3-master moored at the town side quay.

Tied up, boat washed, air conditioner set, traditional bubbly (this time trying Prosecco) to finish the trip, dockside bbq alight as once gain the thunder clouds rolled in. Nothing else for it - a Sharpe episode and a long sleep!
