Ships passing in the dark night, planes on final approach to east coast airports and helicopters flying close by in the day - the Straits of Florida are always busy! Our journey back to where we started crept on until we entered the Fort Pierce inlet. Passing under the bridge at low tide, anchoring close to the marina and waiting on high tide to enter the marina, the morning slipped by - although we discovered that our anchorage was in fact in the middle of the Inter-Coastal Waterway - different to the chartered channel due to shoaling elsewhere - thanks to a courteous tug and barge avoiding a collision and informing us of the discrepancy! At last tied up on the same slip as we left (although not in the corner)! Customs informed and off to the local airport to clear in as international arrivals and most importantly renew our cruising licence for another year.

Then a chance to visit an old marina haunt of ours - Harbourtown with its re-styled Cove restaurant for a well earned late lunch! Not long before tiredness overtook us in the early evening.. Work to be done on a few repairs and boat cleaning over the next few days - a 700nm adventure to Cuba and the Bahamas and back draws to a close!
