Decision to leave tomorrow (Sunday) meant a visit to the dock-master Saturday morning to arrange check-out. So, an early morning bike and run to include the dock-masters office to start the process, finishing off with a 4 mile jog around the marina canals. Marina bill paid (very reasonable for a 14 day stay) and clearance given to visit the customs on actual departure.

So it was into old Havana one last time - first to buy a few more souvenirs and gifts - finding the "taller de Experimental - the local lithograph printers along the way.

Then to meet up with our friends from "Oceanaire" whom we had met again earlier on this trip in Fort Lauderdale - although on this same adventure seemingly so long ago. The venue was to be El Floridita - one of Hemmingway's favourite haunts. Dodging between the torrential downpour of rain along the narrow streets we made our entrance to cheers of Marty and Hernan waiting for us with seats at the bar and daiquiris on order!! Then to a nearby restaurant they knew for a late lunch - wonderful food at incredibly cheap prices and of course great company as we shared stories of Havana and our respective excursions. Parting company with a view to meet again - possibly England, Budapest or wherever we find them and ourselves in the future!

One last taxi negotiation to get us safely back to the marina in dreadful driving conditions of floods on the road and poor visibility - needless to say the old classic cars leaked and had only one weak windscreen wiper through which to squint for the road!!
