Morning 5k bike and run along the beachfront promenade and back amongst the waterway canals with mega-yachts tied up to private docks. First iguana spot (a green juvenile) and then back to the boat for the up mast trip. A helpful hand from a neighbour with the loan of a snatch block in the haul line helped as I was gradually raised to the top - not once but thrice! The wind anemometer was definitely twisted, down it came, glued to the shaft and back up to reinstall. Oh, the wind vane wasn't turning to the wind direction - light winds but still didn't seem right. Down again. Quick review online for comments on a similar problem - a seized ball bearing. After a few liberal blasts of rust penetrator, 3-in-one oil and the drill connected to the shaft - the bearing gradually freed up. Back up once again - installed and working! Good for the sailing blog pages!! Time to enjoy the view from the masthead.

A quick trip to the beach for beach bowls and back to the boat ready to go out to the nearby restaurant and meet ex-work colleagues. A fun time had sharing stories and catch up rounded off a successful day.
