Change of plan - although still setting out today - decided to go back to our favourite island (Cumberland in St Mary's inlet) due to impending heavy weather forecast for tomorrow morning up in South Carolina. Not wanting to be caught out trying to make Port Royal Sound we headed south on a leisurely 6-8 knots easterly, later becoming south easterly. Had to make a small detour to stay outside of 5nm coast guard firing range (!!) - we arrived just on sunset without any gunfire at us - although a coast guard helicopter made a clear reconnaissance pass as we approached the inlet (reminding me to call Customs and Border Protection to report our movement)! Some evidence of tree damage along the islands coastline - courtesy of the recent hurricane. Sundowners on anchor, delightful curry and an episode of "Jeeves" on DVD to round off the day. All quiet and peaceful in the darkness.
