Fuel filter day - the maintenance list gets shorter each day! Pre-fuel filter alongside the diesel tank, removed and replaced with only very minor diesel spillages! But knowing the next job (primary filter) was going to be a job in a tight space - there is never enough room around the engine to work - so, strip out the water hoses for the impeller head and the water-maker to gain more access. But would the primary fuel filter budge? Not at all! Not enough room to gain a grip. No choice but to dismantle and remove the fuel filter housing. In the end an easier job to replace and re-install - note for the manual for next time!

Then the moment of truth - time to test the engine - would the impeller draw up cooling sea-water? Was the fuel priming down correctly and no air-locks? Would the oil filter or impeller pump housing o-ring leak oil?? No - it all seemed okay - engine ran smoothly with clean oil and all filters. As yet no sea water weeping - but time will tell if the new seal holds.....
