Anchors hauled early morning -complete with sand, grass and clams! Heading initially north and then north east to the Great Bahama Island where we will make our last stop, clear customs, judge the right weather window to cross the Gulf Stream and return tot he U.S. Not quite finished our cruise as yet.

Seeing that our arrival to Port Lucaya (a possible stop-over) would be late evening and avoiding a dark entrance we decided to push on further north to West End. A marina berth reserved in Old Bahama Bay, we settled in to some light wind sailing accompanied first by a pod of dolphins and then a tired yellow finch – hitching a lift for a short while.

As the sun set (with sundowners and snacks) all seemed calm and peaceful. Howver, as evening wore on and we reached the lights of Great Bahama Island - a stronger northerly filled in (as forecast) but a little earlier than expected....we had a fight on to make progress northward and at the same time avoid the shipping traffic in and out of Freeport.....the journey continues!
