A windy night - kept awake by the halyards slapping the mast and the sail sheets tapping the deck above our heads. marks taken to ensure we were not dragging our anchor.....or were we? Magic Friday must have waited until the last mark was taken ... and then ... un-be known to her sleeping crew - we slipped (literally) across the bay - evidently missing nearby yachts to rest some 100m away from our starting point!! No time for morning tea, haul the anchor and motor back to our position, re-set the anchor, still dragging - so deciding to pick up a mooring bouy instead we motored up to it - oh but there was no mooring rope to pick up, the boat hook got caught in the bouy and came apart - we fell away with pnly half the boat hook! Resolved to go back and get it we dropped the trusty spare Fortress anchor nearby - held perfectly. Off in the dinghy (outboard humming nicely) to the mooring bouy to retrieve our missing half boat hook and pole, Also a chance to slip a mooring line on the bouy and attach to the boat - so we were doubly secured - anchor and mooring bouy...phew. Time for that cup of tea! Breakfast was a little disturbed by a slightly irate harbour hand wanting to collect the mooring fee ($20) immediately (from the dock) and he couldn't wait. Dinghy over, issue settled, paid and calmed down, we were left to enjoy the security of the bouy (and our anchor).

A late afternoon visit into Alice Town – to revisit the Twin Brothers bar and restaurant (and hotel) apparently, "As seen on TV" ….and to their conch fritters. Definitely the best in the Bahamas. Nothing changes in sleepy Alice Town....
