Morning dew-on-the-decks, soon dried by the sun -
so peaceful (not counting the night's alarm interuptions!). So where was
this island? As mid-day low tide approached (almost full moon neep tides) -
there it appeared - close off the stern. Birds quickly populated the mud rise
for food. We watched the depth reduce until only a few inches beneath the keel -
time to pull the hook and move over into deeper
water ... all of 30ft into
the middle of the creek,,, and then back to our peaceful, relaxing afternoon
spotting dolphins nearby and with no doubt of a much more restful night
ahead in deeper water!
