Yet another morning run (I now know all the back-streets, side-streets, bridges and routes to the surrounding islands of Brunswick by heart)! But then a rest from boat jobs - time to enjoy Jekyll Island and its historic background.... Just a short car ride (over a bridge I know well!) and onto the island. Once a place for the rich and famous - summer houses built by J.P. Morgan and Rockefeller to name a few  - "Millionaires row" (or Riverview Drive). The first "transcontinental" phone call made by then CEO of American Telegraphic and Telephone Company (AT&T) to Mr. Alexandra Graham Bell in New York was made from the island. The Jekyll Island Club hotel - built for the then residences to dine and dwell at leisure. All set amongst sprawling live oak trees draped with Spanish moss and driftwood filled beaches. We enjoyed the Grand Dining room and Riverview Lounge of the Club for an early evening dinner before returning to our own millionaires row - Brunswick Landing marina!
