A morning call to thje Coast Guard  - the Petty Officer responding said we had sufficient depth to clear the wreckage and proceed. However, the wind forecast was still light from the north - worth waiting another day for fresher winds and veering south - so wait we did.

Except that it was not a rest day - that niggling problem with the windlass (anchor chain motor that was not fixed by replacingt he handheld control) had to be investigated further.

So we set to dismantling the windlass - piece by cog by piece....until we got to the motor. Unfortunately nothing revealed itself as a problem (visually),

There was noithing else for it....a (long distance) "call a friend" for furthe thoughts/input on the matter (thanks Jeff).

The conclusion - no choice it was time to start drilling holes in the inner cabin shell to gain access to an "iinacessible" area and inspect the wiring in more detail. Yes ... holes in the shell BUT not the hull itself! After much effort, drilling and filing an ispection hole revealed the motor wires - not quite large enough to get a hand and tools inside (yet) - so we called it a day - to be resumed!!

Dinner and a film to round the day off...there is always another day!
