Another day, another morning run (5 + miles) - this time to Apple Machines in St Lucie for longer bolts in order to finish the port drive chain installation - and a taxi back to avoid the rainstorms! Afternoon walk together (4 miles return) to Marine Liquidators looking for other parts (different projects). Who said boating doesn't keep you fit?! An interesting walk along the highway - passing several mobile home parks, papaya trees and a roadside hickory smoke bbq - Tillman's. At Marine Liquidators - what an Aladdin’s cave - just about every stainless steel bar, fitting, catch, propeller, boat hatches, old electronics, switches...everything - well, almost everything - they didn't have the one particular item we went for(!!) - but we did find a few other much needed pieces to be able to strike off items on the long list of to-do's / to-get! On the walk back we couldn't resist stopping at Tillman's for a pulled pork sandwich - the smell and taste was excellent - sustenance for our continued walk and stop-over at the grocery store for provisioning. A full day out! Latest news on the sunken barge blocking the exit from Fort Pierce - navy divers surveying (after all this is the birthplace of the navy SEALS), possible passage for shallow draft boats, but as of now - nothing is entering or leaving the port - another day stuck in paradise! Tomorrow will tell if we change plans and leave the boat here, return later and sail to Bahamas from Fort Pierce instead - assuming the passageway is cleared within 2 weeks!!
