A "noisey" night on the Hyatt regency dockside - as the wind buffetted the boat, the wash from cargo and tanker vessels as they eerily edged by down the Savannah River - gave way to a clear blue morning sky with a bitterly cold wind - touching 16 knots on the river! Time to stay on the boat with the heater at full rate! However, an afternoon brisk walk around old Savannah - making sure to take in Wright Square along with other familiar sights such as the Cotton Exchange (twinned with Liverpool's exchange) - and of course the ubiquitious spanish moss draped live oaks - wonderful even in the cold winters light! Then debating the rugby, cricket scores and ICW cruising stories with an Australian cafe/wine bar owner (!) rounded off the sortie into town. A night on the boat - delightful chicken curry dinner and film as the cargo ships slip by and peace returns under the Savannah bridge for the evening. We are ready to leave in the morning on the tide for open seas and south....!
