Early
start leaving Palmetto Bay Marina and friends on the outward tide down Broad
Creek. As we passed Harbour Town and into Cabilogue Sound we had a visitor
hitching a ride - a friendly Pelican on the coach roof! Crossing Tybee Roads in
15+ knott bitterly cold westerly winds we turned up towards Savannah. All quiet
no shipping. Unable to enter the ICW at Elba Island Cut and head south
due to insufficient depth - two attempts - change of plan and continue up to
Savannah. Reserved a mooring at the Hyatt Rengcy Marina - in the heart of
downtown. Will wait out the gale warning and high winds offshore, enjoy old
Savannha and sail south near the end of the week.
