Steady wind and bright moonlit night
gave way to a special sunrise (they are always so good at sea). Passing
Frying Pan Shoals bouy and rounding Cape Fear in the early morning.
Hove-to to make breakfast and wait for ebb tide to enter Cape Fear River
after mid-day. Motor-sailed into the river entrance and up to investigate
possible anchorages on the ICW - Pipe Line Ditch or Dutchman's Creek -
neither any good for our draft!! So, back down the river and into
Bald Head Island marina to shelter until Thurs/Fri northerlies blow out a
little. |
