Continue south
and across North River - exiting through shallow shoals (brushing the
weeds/mud) and into Abermarle Sound toward Alligator River bridge - an
impressive swing bridge - with a heavy traffic jam for us to pass
through! Passed overhead by the smallest private light plane I
have seen! Head wind in Alligator River made motoring slow as the afternoon
slipped away. Anchor ready and away (with a trip line in case we snagged a
sunken tree trunk) - just outside the ICW channel at the head of
Alligator River for a cold overnight.
