Thank goodness for the trip line - anchor appeared stuck (maybe just heavy mud) - but we certainly needed the line to free it's grip! Good faith in the sat nav lead us the entrance of Pungo River canal - not obvious. A pleasant 10-12 nm of fixed depth, swamp trees and barges to watch for passing places....and then the Wilkerson Bridge! Not a good sight to see a northward sloop tied up after the bridge with no masthead instrumentation. We had done our best to time arrival at the lowest possible tide (as such they were), no boats afro or aft to create wash - we lined up and help our breath ... touching the antenna again on each steel joist...and we were through! A bug releif to enter the Pungo River. Faced with more headwinds, shoals either side of the channel and forboding storm clouds on the horizon kept the concentration. Rounding into Bellhaven and into Riverforest marina - couple of calls to the dockmaster to find a channel in without running aground (!) - tied up just before the rains arrived!
