All is well on board. The priority traffic on last night's SSB Radio Net alerted us to a tsunami warning across the South Pacific, following an earthquake in Chile measuring 8.3 on the Richter scale. Deep joy! In these situations quite often the safest place to be is out at sea and, indeed, cruiser friends in the Marquesas were weighing anchor and heading out to sea until the wave had passed.

For those of us offshore no one reported anything out of the ordinary, but we were on high alert for a good part of the night, as a precaution.

After a day of grey, overcast skies we've awoken to sunshine, blue sky and some fluffy white clouds - a classic trade winds sailing day. We're moving along nicely wing-on-wing with a relatively comfortable sea state. Let's hope it lasts.
