We found the Hondeklip Bay anchorage to be rolly with big swells coming in side on to Meshugga at anchor and hence with a good wind predicted for the afternoon we up’d anchor and set off for Port Nolloth by 8am.
We sailed the whole way with full main and Screecher, and in the afternoon we were surfing at a constant 12 -13 knots.
We arrived early evening in Port Nolloth, and found NO port, just an anchorage within the reef, and we anchored amongst the Diamond Boats again. At high tide the sea comes over the reef with big head on swells, but at low tide the anchorage is peaceful.
Going ashore on Saturday at full high was an adrenalin rush, both getting off and on Meshugga and climbing up the ladder at the De Beers jetty.

We’ll spend a few days here, mainly awaiting to collect a parcel from Cape Town, as the couriers are closed on the weekend.
