We motored up the Tennessee River to Grand Rivers, a small village between Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lake. The main reason for the intended stop was that we needed some boat stuff, ordered on Amazon and needed to have the parcels delivered. I contacted the Kentucky Lake Sailing Club, and the ex-commodore Randal was welcoming, and we had our parcels delivered to the Lighthouse Marina where the club is situated, and were invited to the clubs Season Opening Cookout, ie Hamburger and Hotdog BBQ. What lovely friendly people we met.

We spent a week in Grand Rivers, sightseeing the quaint village, shopping, cutting
across the small headland on our e-bicycles to the Green Turtle Marina, associated shops, the Commonwealth Yacht Club and the famous Thirsty Turtle Bar/Restaurant.

Late one afternoon on leaving Thirsty Turtle (Nicholas had gone ahead of me to the Chandlery), I heard an unusual sound and looking up two deer (does no antlers) came running 5 meters past me, being chased by a Jack Russel. They zigzagged across the car park lawns, down to the water and into the forest. I had not been quick enough to get my camera out, so cycled along the road edging the forest hoping to see them for a photo, and saw a dog sitting in the road. I thought it weird, as there were no people or houses around, and it had very pointy ears. As I got closer it got up and walked across the road in front of me - A Fox. Again no camera at the ready.

I told Nicholas the above story - that I’d mistaken the Fox for a Dog, and he asked me if I new the difference between a 🐕 Dog and a Fox 🦊 .
Apparently it’s ‘Two Drinks’ haha.
