Missouri. Yet another USA State to tick off that we’ve visited.
Charlie Brown of the Kidd Oil Fuel Dock, kindly allowed us to come alongside as we needed to go ashore to purchase bolts for our port engine. Numerous phone calls, and we found the bolts at Fastenal, 5 km from the dock, and easy cycle on my e-bike..

Seems we might have a bent port prop shaft, as some bolts have broken twice, so best we stock up on these bolts, as our mast is down, so no sailing, and as we are now in the Mississippi River which is running at 5-6 knots, one motor is not going to get us upstream fast. No idea where we’re going to be able to haul Meshugga out of the water to have the prop shaft straightened - I’ll have to start googling for wide travel lifts up on the Great Lakes.
Cape Girardeau, referred to as ‘The Cape’ by locals, is another Historical town. A quaint village Main Street with antique shops, and the Levee wall decorated with murals of the areas past.

Having got our purchases, we left and motored upstream to a no-name inlet, anchoring behind a Wingdam and adjacent to this railway bridge.
Wow — did we get a fright the first time a train came past, SO loud, went rushing out to see what was about to plow into us.
