The mast was laid onto chocks on the ground, where the shrouds were removed.
The mast was then picked up again and lowered onto Saw Horses, where Nicholas and Wes dismantled the mast and removed fittings.

Drew Craze, the Manager at Fairhope Docks Marina was incredibly helpful throughout the process.

Nearby a Tow and barge were working installing new sea walls and pilings, and owners Matt and Scott Cassity were great. They brought their forklift to the Marina and pulled the two sections of the mast apart, moving the pieces close to Meshugga’s dock.

They then brought their barge with a Pile Driver Crane on it. We tied Meshugga to the barge and they lifted and moved the two sections of mast, and coils of shrouds onto Meshugga

By the following Friday we were 90 % complete and we decided to leave Fairhope and go exploring Mobile Bay.
We first went to Dog River where we met incredible people and experienced the warmth and hospitality of the Mobile Yacht Club.
A big thanks to Andre Veal of Turner Marine, who picked up my lost purse (with all credit cards and cash) and returned it to me intact at the Dog River Marina.
