Two wonderful days in the Berg River.
Easy access to Laaiplek village directly through the Laaiplek Hotel (look for the grassy patch with jetty for dingys) soon after the entrance into the River. Large Spar supermarket and pharmacy for forgotten victuals and Eigelaars Marine Store for bits and pieces.
Also a large MKB Agri at the crossroads of Church and Voortrekker (dingy parking under the bridge), they seem to have everything.
Wonderful bird life up the river by dingy river cruise: Flamingoes, ostriches, herons, cormorants, ibis etc.
Excellent dinner of fresh muscles in cream, garlic and white wine at the Vishuis restaurant on the River. Easy to get there as they have a jetty for dingys.
