Antigua, Jolly Harbour

It took us 12 hours to get there…
It was a great sailing.

As we were following Guadeloupe coast — the island was blocking the wind. The wind occasionally spilled over the mountains, providing some breeze…
But 5-6 knots of wind was not enough for us to keep intentend speed. So, the answer was — motor sailing…

It was actually a good exercise for steering at night. No moon. Dark all around. And lights on land and on passing a few miles away ships…

As we cleared the northern tip of the Guadeloupe — the picture changed completely.
We had relatively flat seas… and ~15 knots of wind. Nearly broad reach. Complete darkness.

The sky — full of stars, the boat — putting the waves aside…
As the waves run around the bow, you could see fluorescence / plankton…
But I was probably the only one who was enjoying the nature. The boat was doing about 8 kts… basically with no visibility around, and the crew was busy to maintain the course as the boat was accelerating and playing with the waves…

And then sun rise and shortly after — anchoring at Jolly harbour. Clearing the customs was easy this time. And as soon as the papers were done — we picked the anchor and moved to Heritage Bay, ‘just around the corner’ — to relax, to swim, to enjoy Antigua.
