On anchor in Barbate. The leg is completed.

So, the Atlantic saga of the journey is nearly ready to take the break, as we are preparing to enter the Med.
The Gibraltar is about 36-40 nm away, and is a matter to 5-6 hours leg… ( Not sure about that one, just picked it up from the book… ;-)).

For the rest of today — some cleaning, evaluation of the local forecasts around Tarifa, and selecting where to go in Gibraltar. It may be as early as tomorrow, or — depending on the weather — at the earliest possible ‘window’.

Yes, I’m nearly ready to say ‘Hasta pronto’ to the Atlantic Ocean, as we preparing to enter the Med. It has been a great journey so far, and I hope to keep it that way.

It would be nice to catch on sleep, but besides that — everything is. OK. The Ocean is warm ( about 72F ), and the weather is nice. No complains at all!
Barbate — is not the big place at all. Really tiny… Perfect, for the quick ‘transient’ stop.

Everything is as ‘planned’ so far.
Talk later,
M.

P.S.>> Regarding the ‘Inflatable boats in the straight’… The series of ‘pan-pan… pan-pan… pan-pan…’ :
— the Spanish military ship intercept a few, and was in the middle of the ‘rescue mission’…
— the Moroccan military ship arrived on the scene, and was patrolling…
— the sailing yacht to Gibraltar, picked up a person from the water…
— another pleasure boat — going to Gibraltar — spotted a lot of life-jackets, the submerged ( punched ) inflatable… but no people, no bodies…

A bit later, the Tarifa radio announced that the operation is over… How they determine it? I have no idea.
