1645 nm  gone...
Probabily, the longest 24 hour run I've made on the boat -- 186nm...
Exactly 2 weeks in the  sea...  and yes, this time all those -- 50 miles from shore,   150 miles from shore...  do NOT apply...

To some degree, the sailing so far has been boring...  ' Boring sailing is good!  I wish you a boring crossing! ', I've been wished  on leaving Antigua...  She was right.  No stitching the arms or wounds, no rogue storms...   no major broken parts...  boring.. ;-)  And that is good!!!!

Two weeks in the Ocean...
As I said in the previous log e-mail -- I research all available accounts from different persons... The traveling they were making were so differernt,   preparations were so diffeent... Different in all terms, angles, and directions ---  budgets, goals,  desire to cover and be ready for all imaginable challenges...

Challenges... I have the RAY  yachtmaster exam preparation book on board...  And the author claims that the yachtmaster should constantly be prepared  and think what to do if the rigging gives up,  man over board, injures, etc. etc, etc...   I think I got the wrong book or something is lost in reading..  Because in my mind,  as you start  to think that way --  one thing for sure...  the challenge you are thinking of  would  find you  one day...  And no matter how well you are prepared -- the last thing you want is to deal with it...
Why not just to enjoy sailing instead?  ( Granted,  it is nice and issential  to have plans B, C, D....   But let them be B, C, and D....  Not make them A )...

So,  two weeks in the sea... Boring  sailing...  Nice!
The set of Azores islands and the boat icon  have appeared on the same plotter screen with a reasonable resolution! We are moving in the right direction!!!

Right direction...
I guess I've learned something  in handling the boat during the last 2 years...
But bad habbits are difficult to get rid off... Two years ago I was so preoccupied with idea and thoughts to make the crossing from Norfolk to BVI... that I did not think where on BVI exactly... and what I'm going to do on BVI...
Two years later... I'm so preoccupied with   'crossing the Atlantic to Azores '  -- I completely forgot to check which island I would actually  like to make a landfall... And what exactly I would like to do on Azores...
At least I have a  cruising guide, and now, as the boat is taking care of actual crossing,  I'm  reading the book...

The good part  is...  since I do not care where to go, actually...  It is impossible to discruct the boat and myself  from the 'right direction'.  We are on the right track by definition...  And the only drawback,   when Chris Parker asked, 'Where would you like to go?'   -- the answer ' I do not  know... where is a good wind?' ,  does not sound too good...  But...  let it be my biggest challenge at the moment...

Two weeks in the Ocean... Already? Really?!!!   Realisation that ' it is, indeed', -- has just occured to me..  Wait a second... can we slow down a bit?  I've just realised what kind of adventure  I've started... With a real open  end...  Way... What should I do about it?!  Time to go to the deck, lay down and watch the stars...  The rest can wait...

Meantime, we are sailing... At a speed of 6 kts... Light winds again...  No record breaking tomorrow... That is right, manana...
We are going more North a bit,  in search of stronger winds, to stay awy from Azores High...  But that would be tomorrow, another day...

Until then --- good night!
