English Harbour, Antigua.

We have arrived there just before sun set on Sunday evening after making a nice sailing from Guadeloupe.
The passage has started with the strong winds… But much moderate then the previous passage from Antigua…
We did not push the boat hard, but managed to maintain about 7knts average speed.

The paradox of English Harbour — it is nearly always full, with a lot of boats coming there for clearance…
The next morning we spent nearly 1.5 hours in customs & immigration… going through the clearance, and making the proper crew list…
( My guest was leaving afternoon, and we have to go through the clearance first, and then through the process of removing my friend from the crew list…)
Customs are customs… and each country has a right to build their own procedures, I guess… No complains!

Today — a big surgery on the engine exhaust system. Finally, with the help of Maurice Gagnon — who was kind enough to assemble the kit of materials and tools for me — I’ve been able to open the elbows, and to cut new and to replace all exhaust gaskets. The motor seems to be happy — no draft of exhaust gases through the joints anymore… I hope it will stay like that for a while… since I need some time to clean my hands, fingers, and nails… I do not know how long that process would take, but I hope the gaskets would last longer… But beside that small nuisance — the ‘operation’ went really well!

What next? A few small fixes here and there… Waiting for the good weather — probably, the beginning of the next week… ( The weather forecast is saying that the big storm coming over Atlantic on coming Saturday would bring really big N - NW swell and S-SW (!!! ) winds… over weekend and beginning the next week).

And then — probably next destination!
