We spent a restful few days in and around the three ports of Rockland, Camden and Rockport.  Well, not such a restful few days in Rockport, where  John set to dismantling the steering pedestal and grinding off the welds on the linkages so that he could fit new bearings to the steering system.  Luckily the boatyard that had ordered the parts on our behalf were most helpful and let him use their facilities in the workshop and did some welding on the final linkage.  John sighed with relief that the job was finished and I sighed with relief that I didn't have to listen to his whinging anymore.

We were lucky that the repair time corresponded with one of our first foggy days in Maine, almost a complete white out.  The next day when it lifted we made the short hop over to Pulpit harbour in 25knot winds, passing an Osprey nest on Pulpit Rock which guarded the entrance.  We pootled around this beautiful natural harbour in our tender and stopped to speak to the other half in their 70ft Cayman Island registered yacht, surprisingly they did not invited us onboard for drinks, despite John being on his best behaviour.
